We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! Even without regular weekly classes, we are busy "behind the scenes" getting ready for next season.
In order to finalize teams and class times, we need some feedback.

The information below highlights the differences between Competition, Performance, and Recreational teams as well as few tweaks to the program. All dates are subject to change.
*All teams must have at least 5 students to run. Classes may be combined or split depending on enrollment.*
1) Recreational Teams
Fall, Winter, and Summer Sessions: Commitment is for one session at a time. New Routines for each session!
Fall Sept 4th/6th - Dec 15th, Winter Jan 10th/15th - April 29th/May 4th, Summer July-Aug Fairs
Classes for ages 3 & up! Typical age brackets are 3-4, 5-7 and 8 & Up. Age as of Sept 1st.
Costume is a t-shirt and black pants or capris, shoes can be black or white. Performing is optional (Winter Show, Spring Recital and Summer Fairs)
2) Performance Teams
Commitment is for the full season AND summer performances. Season Runs Sept 4/6th - April 28th/May 4th.
Performance teams will have a costume and black or white clogging shoes. Two routines plus a Christmas dance will be learned for the whole season.
Age groups will depend on enrollment. Performance teams will only run if we have at least 5 students in a comparable age/skill bracket. (Ages 7-9 may combine with Novice competition. Competing would be optional.)
There will be short review practices before any summer performances.
3) Competition Teams
Commitment is for the full season AND summer performances. All-around solos are now required for Beg-Champ. We are seeing such great progress form those who learn, practice, and compete them! See below.
Comp classes may start August 28th. There will be two required Saturday practices, one in January and one in February.
Comp Teams will have costumes, white clogging shoes and attend 2-3 competitions. Details will be provided in the team contract.
Intermediate-Champ classes will be extended 15 minutes each week to allow more time for conditioning, technique, and solo review. Tuition will increase $5 per month (Int-Champ).
- All-Around Solos
Beginning to Champ Level: Four solos will be taught at two summer camps. (2 at each camp-Line/Perc and Show/Trad) More info coming soon! The challenge solo will be taught in class prior to Nationals. You will need to attend at least 1 solo camp. If you cannot make either solo camp, you will need to schedule a private lesson.
Novice competition will learn 2-3 solos as part of their class. The Novice Comp class will now be 60 minutes per week with tuition being the same as other 60min comp classes.
We strongly recommend the purchase of an AA-Solo DVD from America On Stage to review and practice with at home. Our Director’s Code is COFLEA1819 to receive the discounted price of $20. We will be notifying each dancer very soon of what level they should dance for solos. The link to purchase is http://www.americaonstage.org/AASolos/SoloProgram.htm
If parents wish to organize fundraisers, you are more than welcome to! Car wash, yard sale, cookie dough. etc. Let us know if you would like to help put something together.
